How about we… Taste a few of the 100+ flavors of steeped vodkas at Nasha Rasha and share a bowl of pelmeni.

Explore

How about we… If we get to know each other...take a day trip to TigerFriends sanctuary in Myrtle Beach and spend the day handling tiger kittens, baby orangutans, elephants, wolves, and more.

Eat

How about we… Go have the roast meat (or veg) bun at my favorite bakery in Chinatown, along with their surprisingly good iced coffee.

About EricJustin

An awesome place I've visited:

My trips to Japan (food + blend of antiquity and ultramodernism) and Kenya (creatures) were the most memorable. More locally, I'm continually intrigued by the Russian food and Soviet culture in Brighton Beach.

My perfect Sunday:

If I'm in NY...go to breakfast, and then a workout in the gym or run along the Hudson. Have an Asian dinner of sushi or healthy Chinese. Maybe even cook something at home if there's someone to share it with. If I'm out at the family place in LI...go into Sag Harbor for a walk, drink coffee, and go on a bike ride.

The movie I've watched the most times:

Probably Star Wars, since I had it on Betamax growing up. Yes, my dad had a Betamax.

My life history in 5 sentences or fewer:

Born and raised in Manhattan. Nearly missed becoming a paleontologist, archaeologist, marine biologist, neuroscientist, and doctor, but had a high-school stint as a volunteer zookeeper. Moved to Boston for 15 years for grad school and started a company, then moved back to Manhattan in 2011 for family and friends. Recreationally, I've picked up licenses for airplanes, motorcycles, and scuba...but spend more time now on volunteering, personal fitness, and my food blog. -

My first concert / My dream concert:

Well my first album (actually on vinyl) was the B52's, purchased at 10. I liked the Jurassic-sounding keyboard of "Planet Claire".

Obscure knowledge I possess:

What puffin tastes like.

I have a weakness for guys/girls who:

Are intelligent and warm...pretty and sinewy...and who appreciate spontaneous free association.

A story you should remind me to tell you on our first date:

The time I was asked to assist in a surgery.

If I won the lottery and quit my job, I would:

Teach more, build a vintage car collection, promote educational reforms, and have an animal sanctuary.
